SB Building Advice Ltd was established by Steve Burton in January 2011, offering schools a new building advice and support service aimed at helping them through the complexities of dealing with the development of their premises and ground works with the emphasis on project administration and Health and Safety regulations that puts even more pressure on schools.
Many schools in Leeds will know Steve, as he has been delivering a professional Building Surveyor and design service for the last 8 years through the Leeds City Council’s Property Advice team and can count many successful projects and assistance situations in Leeds schools.
As an independent consultant, Steve now plans to offer a brand new service which aims to train appointed project coordinators at schools and guide and support them through your building and alteration projects.
By following pre-prepared contract and control documentation specific to each projects, which are laid out in a logical sequence, schools will have more control over the works and avoid contractor and financial problems, ensure quality and consistency of specifications with built in H&S provision and most importantly save money.
This procedure will give schools the confidence to identify and control small to medium sized building works in house and does not attract high service provision fees and inconsistent specifications and terms of agreement from contractors.
SB Building Advice Ltd is offering 4 categories of assistance at nominal costs based on the size and complexity of the specified project.
1) One to one training session with the schools chosen project coordinator on project administration and council procedures with H&S.
2) Individually prepared project folders in cooperation with the project coordinator.
In bands of 0 to £10k – 10k to 20k — £20k to £30k
3) Hourly charge for additional guidance and support throughout the project.
4) Other requests for assistance, design or survey at agreed costs or hours
